It’s Been a While + Life Lately

Hey friends!

It’s been a while! Like waaaaaaaayyyy too long of a while! The last time I published a post was back in October!?! That’s not embarrassing!Β πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ

Anyways, I thought I’d check to let you all know what’s been happening in life lately and how things are on the running part of life.

First things first…Life…

I started a new job back in January and I LOVE it so far! I can flex my hours and everyday brings something different, which is good for me because I like to take on new challenges.Β  There are still the core parts in my role where the responsibilities stay the same, but the different situations that come up are different and change day by day.

I know it’s only been 4 months, but I have a waaaay better attitude about work and I’m surround by people that are overall positive and tenacious. The environment is just better for me than at my previous job.Β πŸ‘

So the work front is going well for me!

Hubby is of course busy with grad school and teaching. He’ll be closing in his first year of teaching in mid-May and it’s a HUGE deal! This year has been a year of sooo many changes. All good changes! But change can be stressful, nonetheless!

Other than work and keeping up on cleaning and laundry (the laundry is REAL when you have 2 runners! Ha!), there’s really not much new on the home front for us.Β  We DID go to the Grand Canyon in January before I started my new job, so I’ll have to maybe write a separate post for that.

Running…

Running has been going extremely well for me. I am currently training for two half marathons in May and I am for shizzle ready for them! Like READY TO RACE them. All out….and that lovely racing pain the WHOLE WAY.Β (⬅️So excited!!!)

I’m also going to be signing up for an October marathon. And, I’ll most likely also focus on racing more 5ks and 10ks this summer and work on bringing up my lactic acid threshold.

I’ve been incorporating quite a bit more strength training into my routine and I am LOVING it! And, also have introduced mile repeats, which kill by the way.Β  But, I’ve been reaping the benefits of that workout like crazy!

Well, that’s the life update.Β  Not a whole lot going on, but we are focusing on work and running (AND saving for a house…that’s going to get a whole lot more real!).Β  And that’s what’s keeping us busy!
